Picture Day Sept 17th

Be sure to warm up your best smile before next Thursday. On Thursday September 17th Courtice Secondary will be having their annual picture day. Picture packages will be available as part of your student activity packages or additional forms will be available in home rooms prior to the 17th.

Welcome to the official online home for Courtice Secondary School. CourticeSecondary.ca is a place for stundents and teachers to engage in their education and contribute to each others’ learning.

There are many cool features that help students contribute and participate in this online community.

Once you’re registered and confirmed as a student in the system, you will be able to post comments and respond to any post or page. Feel free to ask questions or contribute more information to a particular topic.

When you get a chance, take a glance at the forums. Here you will be able to engage in discussions or ask for help on any school related topic.

We are currently recruiting student volunteers to help with the site. Students will be able to help by contributing articles and having them published on the site. You could write about current events, sports results, or share your opinions with the school. We also need some technical help and graphics help. You could help by designing logos and images for the site, or help us maintain the massive amounts of data that this site will contain.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask me (Mr. Vaughan) or post a comment on this post.

- Looking at a Personal Essay: Ka-Ching by Margaret Atwood
- Working on questions 1 and 2 with a partner – we will be taking up these questions tomorrow

Thursday:
- Taking up #1 and 2
- Essay Writing Review
- Reading: Afternoon of an American Boy
- Group Activity
-Working on Writing Sample #1 (time permitting)

Friday:
- Reading: Cameleons and Codas (225) #1
- Working on Writing Selection

Please work on Writing Sample #1 over the weekend. Hint: we will be having a quiz some time next week on Essays!

Friday:
- Reading: “In the Silence”
- Completing questions 3 and 4
- Homework: Finish up the questions! Work on your letter of intent over the weekend. We will have some time for peer editing of this assignment on Monday.
