Public Health Message RE: H1N1

The Durham Region Health Department will be increasing access to H1N1 vaccination to include children 5 to 18 years of age at all our community clinic locations. Attached is a flyer with the clinic locations, dates and times which we are requesting that you distribute to the parents in your schools and post it on your school board website.

In addition, the Public Health Agency of Canada has currently released recommendations in regards to H1N1 vaccine dosing for children. Healthy children age 3 to 9 require only 1 dose of adjuvanted vaccine and not the 2 doses as previously recommended, reflecting results from clinical trials in Europe. All children aged 6 months to less than 3 years are to continue to receive 2 doses at least 21 days apart, as are children 6 months to 9 years with weaker immune systems and underlying medical conditions.

Hello grade 12 student,

Here is our schedule for this week:

Monday:  Fifth Business Essay is due today – please hand in your text.  Reading Act 1, Scenes 2 and 3.  Group Role Play Activity.

Tuesday:  Finishing group role play.  Working on Act / Log questions for the play so far.

Wednesday:  Reading Act 1, Scenes 4 and 5.  Close Analysis of scene 4.   Shakespeare’s language tricks.

Thursday:  Act 1 Logs / Questions check.  Act 1 Blog Post due by 3pm.  Reading Act 2, Scenes 1 and 2.  Hamlet’s Foils!

Week 11 – ENG 1D1 – Matthews

Hello grade 9 students,

Here is our schedule for the week:

Monday: ISU Journal #4 is due today.  We will be starting our study of Romeo and Juliet.  The Unit Calendar will be distributed today as well as the Act 1 study guide.  We will also be looking at at some background on the play and a few new terms.

Tuesday:  To Kill a Mockingbird Essay is due today.  Please hand in your text today.  Rival Gangs activity, Shakespearean Insult game, Reading Act 1, Scenes 1 and 2, Introduction to Shakespearean Research Assignment.

Wednesday:  In the library working on the research assignment.

Thursday:  In the library working on the research assignment.  You will be presenting on Monday!

Semi Formal Dance!!

ISU Journal #3 due today as well as Boo’s Journal Assignment.  Reviewing how to write a body paragraph.  Learning how to write a conclusion.  We will be working in the computer lab (room 111) today.

Tuesday:

Working on Layer A Essay in the computer lab.

Wednesday:

Working on Layer A Essay in the computer lab.

Thursday:

Peer Editing Layer A Essay.   Review for TKMB Unit Test.

Friday:

TKMB Unit Test

Looking Ahead – Final ISU Journal due on Monday.  Layer A Essay due on Tuesday.  We will also be starting our Romeo and Juliet Unit next week.
