Exams will start on Monday January 25th and run through Thursday the 28th
1st period exam will be on Monday
2nd period Tuesday
3rd period Wednesday
4th period Thursday
Exams start at 8:30 and students are to remain in class for the first hour.
Friday the 29th is reserved in the event of inclement weather on any of the exam days. Additionally it will used for credit recovery.

It’s our last week of semester 1!
Here is our schedule for this week:
Monday: Poetry Panel 5 and 6
Choosing something for tomorrow’s poetry circle. Starting to study for our exam.
Tuesday: Poetry Circle – sharing some poems from our poetry unit.
Wednesday: Poetry Quest (it’s not a quiz but it’s not a test either). Exam Review – sample essay topics.
Thursday: Valedictory Addresses
Friday: Finishing Valedictory Addresses if needed and reviewing for our exam! Talking about the sample essay topics.

Wednesday: Your Culminating Task is due today! We will be in the library today working on the last minute touches to your poetry anthology.
Thursday: Poetry Quiz today! Poetry Anthology due today! We will be starting our exam review today as well.
Friday: Exam Review

This week we will be starting on the culminating task for our course. For this assignment, you will be creating a magazine on a subject of your choice.
Monday:
- Introduction to the assignment
- Brainstorming the theme of our magazines
- Roving Reporter Article
Tuesday:
- Finishing up the rough draft of the Roving Reporter Article
- Opinion – Letter to the Editor
Wednesday:
- Finishing up the rough draft of our Letters to the Editor
- Print Advertisements
- Introduction to Biography Article – Author Profile
Thursday:
- Working on research for Biography
Friday:
- Writing Biography rough draft – when finish have Miss Matthews edit your article
Next Week:
We will be in the library on Monday and Tuesday working on typing up good copies for all of our articles. We will also be making the cover an table of contents.
The assignment is due on Thursday at the beginning of the period – we will be presenting our magazines.
