Help!

February 16th, 2009

This page contains all sorts of help and tutorials on how to effectively use the site. Most of the site is pretty easy and I would first suggest trying things out for yourself. If you’re still stuck you can check out this page for some interactive guides and videos.

Additionally if you have any problems with the site I would encourage you to post a question in the forum.

The first thing you likely want to do is use the site to find information about your courses, teachers, or services. This video will help you out and show you around all the areas of the site.

Once you’ve had some fun finding interesting tidbits of info on the site you will realize that you can have so much more fun by contributing and sharing information with everyone else on the site. To do that you need to register. To learn about registration check out this video.

After registering there are now a whole bunch of exciting things you can do. You can post comments and feedback on interesting posts, vote on the weekly poll, and contribute to the forum by asking and responding to various questions about the school or even get help with your homework. If your having trouble with any of these things, this video should help you out.

If your an enthusiastic student and have already mastered the site we would love to have you help by contributing articles. You can write about whatever you like and if deemed appropriate for the site we will publish it for all to see. This video will help you get started.

For teachers learning to use the site involves a few extra steps, to learn how to publish articles and posts for your class this video will walk you through the basics and give you some tips to ensure that your articles are easy for your students to find.

As a teacher, once you’ve mastered the basics there are some advanced functions that can cut down in the management of the site, if you can step in and give a little bit of energy it would be really appreciated. Simple things like moderating students comments and posts or editing student articles can really break up the amount of site administration that is require and can free the developers of the site up to build and create new features for the site. Check out this video to learn how you can help.

As an administrator you might want to use some of the more advanced functions like creating your own polls, image galleries, or adding events to the events calendar. This video will point you in the right direction.
