Attendance

October 12th, 2009

It is critical that communication between parents/guardians and the school happen so that our students remain safe. If a student is not attending school parents/guardians can leave a message on the office answering machine (x228) outside of school hours or speak to someone in the office during the day to indicate their absence. If a student is not returning after lunch we would ask the same and if a student needs to sign out during the day we ask that they report to the main office to do so. We will contact parents/guardians regarding their permission to sign out.

Please note that valid reasons to miss classes include personal illness, medical appointments that cannot be made after school hours, family emergencies, bereavement, etc.

Good attendance is crucial to success in school and reasons such as hair appointments, shopping excursions, family vacations and the like are not valid reasons for missing classes.

Please discuss any long term absences with either the Vice-Principal or Principal PRIOR to the absence.
