First Flash Assignment

For this assignment you will be required to choose 1 of 3 options to demonstrate your abilities in the animation side of flash.

Website Header

This task will require you to design a header animation for the Courtice Secondary Website. The best header images will be showcased on the school site.

You are reasonably free creatively to make whatever type of header image you like however there are some technical requirements that must be followed

• Must be exactly 978 pixels wide and between 150-200 pixels high
• You may incorporate more colors but should uses the color palette provided to match a color palette will be provided with the exact colors
• Must contain school contact information
• Must Contain KPRDSB logo (will be provided). Size and color of the logo are someone flexible but it must be visible.
• May contain Images of students provide that if it is going online you need a photo/model release form signed by the individual and parents.
• Time wise the video should not be excessively long. Depending on how exciting it is 30 seconds will probably be enough

Flash Commercial

For this task you will be required to a flash commercial advertising something in the Courtice community. You may choose to advertise either the school itself, the school website, an event at CSS, or a team or club.

Your commercial should:

• Be 30 seconds to 2 minutes in length
• Have a creative concept to capture the viewers
• Deliver a clear message and call to action (sign up, visit our site etc.)
• Be 1024*768 pixels (w*h)

Cartoon Story

For this task you will be required to make an interactive Cartoon animation

Your cartoon should:

• Tell an interesting story about an event or character(s)
• Carry some moral message or value.
• Demonstrate modern animation techniques not just frame by frame animation
• Be Visually appealing and unique (more then black and white stick figures)
