This page is where I will put all information on the sketch up. Once you have some experience with sketch up I will put assignments in this category. For now I will just start witht he link to the program. If you would like you are able to download this program for free and use it at home.

Assignment 1 – Sketch Up

For this assignment you will be required to design a bedroom. You may choose to either redesign/make over  your current bedroom or come up with a concept for your dream bedroom. Either way your bedroom should include as much detail as possible and be completely furnished.

There are two man things I am looking for in evaluating these bedrooms, visual appeal and technical difficulty. Visual appeal is how realistic, creative, and interesting your room is. Deciding to put things you wouldn’t necessarily think of in a bedroom and making them look good would give you a high visual mark. On the technical side I’m looking for things that demonstrate you can design realistic models in 3D, simply importing from the warehouse will not do well for your mark in this assignment. The more you can design from scratch the better. The designs that impress me the most are ones with curved smooth surfaces and a lot of detail.
Assignment 2

Given the Lego bricks file provided on the students common drive design a lego racer or some sort of creative vehicle. There are to things I am looking for in this assignment: 1) Demonstration of the technical skills required to rotate, snap and manipulate the bricks; 2) Creativity and original designs and wowness factor (explained in class).

Assignment 3

Given the insides of the computer as demonstrated in class. Produce a 3D model of the inside of the computer and label all key components. Here I am looking for a demonstration of your understanding of all the computer parts as well as a realistic model.
